Fargo-Moorhead:
A Progressive Community

Fargo-Moorhead is a great place to live, work and play.

This is a thriving metropolitan area that straddles the Red River of the North. The approximately 188,000 people here benefit from a healthy economy that national experts have called an island of stability in good times and bad. Diverse industry sectors - technology, information services, health care, education, retail, finance and agriculture - form our economic base. High-tech industries have grown exponentially in Fargo-Moorhead in recent years.

This is a great place to raise a family. We have one of the lowest crime rates in the nation, and the community is safe, clean and beautiful. Our ancestors instilled the values and morals we continue to uphold today – a sense of community, focus on families, and a genuine concern for others’ well-being.

We also value education. Our high school students earn SAT and ACT scores that are consistently above national averages and, compared to other communities, more of our high school students graduate and more go on to college. In addition to exceptional public schools, there are 11 private schools in the community, from religious-based programs to Montessori systems. Fargo - Moorhead also is home to two universities, North Dakota State University and Minnesota State University Moorhead, as well as Concordia College, a highly respected private college. In addition, we have Minnesota State Community and Technical College, Aakers College and the University of Mary Fargo Center.

If you’re looking for fun and adventure, Fargo - Moorhead is the place. It's all here – dazzling culinary adventures, arts and entertainment and a lively nightlife. We enjoy excellent shopping and dining, funky cafes, galleries and lounges, artsy hangouts, a historic art deco theatre, the symphony, the opera, art museums, dance companies, music ensembles, Division I, II and III collegiate sports, minor league baseball, live theatre, annual film and music festivals, everything from headliner music acts to a three-ring circus at the FARGODOME and much, much more. The bottom line is, Fargo-Moorhead offers all the entertainment options and tastes of a top-tier city.

And that’s just what’s under a roof. We have all four seasons, and we play hard through them all. The metro area features more than 3,000 acres of public parks, 99 miles of biking and hiking trails, dozens of golf courses, softball, baseball, tennis, swimming and cross-country skiing facilities. And Fargo - Moorhead is in the midst of open prairies with beautiful Minnesota lake country and forests only an hour or so down the road.
